The Managing Director and sole owner of South Downs Funeral Service is Mr Paul M Lee-Bapty Dip FD Affil RSH. Paul is a second generation funeral director with over 36 years of experience, who has followed in his father’s footsteps. Indeed, Paul has taken the role of funeral director as his vocation in life.
Based upon many years of experience, we believe that we are able to provide a personal service as only a family run funeral home can. It is our commitment to you that we will have the time to discuss all your personal requirements; whether it is regarding a funeral service, floristry arrangements, stonemasonry, pre-paid funeral plans or limousine hire.

We provide an extremely high standard of of care, help and support to all the outlying villages including: the Meons, Hambledon, Southwick, Boarhunt, Catherington, Clanfield, Waterlooville, Cowplain, Horndean, Emsworth, Havant, Swanmore, Waltham Chase, Botley, Bishops Waltham and Fareham to name but a few.
We arrange non-attended direct or traditional attended funerals that reflect and incorporate the wishes of the individual, family and friends. We can advise on cremations and burials, choice of coffins, donations, visual life tributes, stonemasonry and flower arrangements. We can even arrange to have the service at home or other suitable venue instead of the usual crematorium chapel service. Whatever you choose we can help you arrange it all, even a suitable venue for a gathering afterwards with any catering needs that might be required.
We are also able to arrange funeral services many miles away, or attend to repatriations if you lose a loved one abroad, or if you would like a loved returned to their own country.
We very much appreciate that each and every funeral service must be carried out to your personal wishes. We will endeavour to ensure that the same member of staff will discuss your personal wishes throughout, and provide guidance and support to you and your family.
Our promise to you is that we will support you both personally and confidentially, either in our funeral home or in the privacy of your own home.
We will not use a call centre many miles away to take care of your concerns when our funeral homes are not open. This means that when you talk to us, you only have to ask once. You will never have to worry that a message will not be passed on. It is most important that you have confidence in the person you are talking to: that they understand you and appreciate how you feel.
We are dedicated in providing a professional service to the highest possible standards, and believe that every funeral can be truly unique representing the life, beliefs and wishes of the deceased, as well as their family and friends.
