Our funeral home in Denmead is located at The Old Post Office House on the Hambledon Road. Although it is difficult to confirm exactly when ‘The Old Post Office’ was built, we believe that it was in the mid to late 1800’s.
Today, the property has been extensively refurbished to provide the highest standards of care and support for our families and, of course, the deceased.
You will enter into a warm and inviting reception area, where the door is always open between Monday and Friday, and by appointment at any other time.
We have a comfortable, light and private arranging lounge for discussing your requirements. To the rear of the property, are our garages which house our fleet of vehicles.
Our Peace Garden is kept pristinely and provides a tranquil area to sit and reflect.
The ethos of South Downs Funeral Service is to provide a relaxing atmosphere in which a family can make personalised arrangements for a funeral service.
Paul explains, “We wanted to ensure that our administrative activities were kept away from our family area. It is not necessary to have computers and office equipment in this area.
‘Our funeral homes are committed to being warm and welcoming at all times’
We welcome any inspection of our funeral home, without any obligation, during normal opening hours. For the majority of occasions, an appointment will not be necessary.
However, at certain times, this may be required to observe the confidentiality of all our families and the deceased.
To the rear of the property, are our garages which house our fleet of Saab vehicles. Our Peace Garden is kept pristinely and provides an tranquil area to sit and reflect. We are all very proud to be supporting the community in a family funeral home.
